This Thursday, people will have the chance to vote between sticking to the currently used First Past the Post system or introducing AV (Alternate vote). East Kent News hit the streets of Canterbury to see what people made of the vote.
Simon Barton, a 53 year old, said, "I'm going to vote to keep FPTP because I trust it. Its been used every time I have ever voted in elections. Plus AV just sound too complicated." Sarah Bates, a 23 year old primary school teacher, is also voting to keep FPTP "From what I know and have been told, AV won't change politics that much. It will just overcomplicate how you actually vote."

For the past few weeks, political parties have been campaigning to for peoples votes in the run up to the Referendum vote. The Conservatives, backed by David Cameron, are against the AV vote. They say FPTP is a tried and tested method of voting and that AV is too complicated. Campaigners to implement the AV system, which includes the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats say it will be a much fairer system of voting and MPs will have to work harder to secure a vote.
